CommuniCare Family of Companies Acquires 16 Skilled Nursing Centers in Indiana

Previously managed by Kindred Healthcare, the Indiana Centers add to CommuniCare’s ability to serve senior healthcare needs.

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Sept. 5, 2017) – CommuniCare Health Services now manages 16 skilled nursing centers previously managed by Kindred Healthcare, adding Indiana as a seventh state in the company’s growing portfolio of skilled nursing centers and rehabilitation hospitals.

Current staff and staffing are expected to stay in place with focus on a seamless transition and ensuring lack of interruption in delivering high quality care.

Through this acquisition, CommuniCare, a privately held company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, grows to 76 healthcare centers in seven states (Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia).

These centers have licensed capacity of more than 2,000 beds, the largest of which is Greenwood Healthcare Center licensed for 185 beds. Many of the centers will also provide rehabilitation and holistic healing for fast recovery after hospital stays and surgeries.

This expansion is the fourth for CommuniCare during the past two years.
