Alzheimer’s and Dementia Symposium Local Experts to offer advice, expertise on care

PITTSBURGH, PA. (June 2, 2016) – A panel of experts will gather at Baldwin Healthcare Center on Tuesday, June 7 from 4:30-6 p.m. to talk about the latest trends in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. The panel will be moderated by Jim Collins, a gerontologist, author and founder of Collins Learning.

Collins, author of “The Person-Centered Way: Revolutionizing Quality of Life in Long-Term Care,” is an expert in long-term quality care.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and tours of Baldwin Healthcare Center at 1717 Skyline Dr., Pittsburgh, will be available following the panel discussion.

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, according to the national Alzheimer’s Association. Nearly every minute, someone in the United States develops the disease, the association says.

Baldwins’s facility is uniquely equipped to care for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
