Hanover Healthcare Celebrates New Veteran’s Lounge

MASSILLON, Ohio (February 9, 2017)

On Wednesday, January 25, 2017, Hanover Healthcare celebrated the grand opening of their Veteran’s Lounge. This event, and the lounge it debuted, honored 12 veterans that currently reside at Hanover, along with a number of veterans who have previously called Hanover home.

Musical entertainment was provided by Warrior Beat, a non-profit organization that promotes healing, well-being, reintegration and fellowship for military veterans through professionally facilitated group drumming. Drums were supplied to 80 residents, and dozens of residents were able to participate in a therapeutic drum circle.

“We had a wonderful time drumming with the residents and can’t wait to return to make some healing vibrations,” said Trevor Meyer, CEO, Co-Founder and Chief Facilitator of Warrior Beat.

“The smiles on the residents’ faces and the excitement in their eyes were witnessed by everyone that attended the event. Guests wrote heartfelt messages to the Veterans in a book of gratitude that will be displayed in the room,” said Shanyn McCourt, Clinical Liasion, Hanover Healthcare.
