- Regency Manor’s Ventilator Unit Program has a high rate of success in weaning our residents from ventilatory support. We strive to make this a reality for as many individuals as possible. Our center provides care for residents who require ventilator care due to an injury, chronic disease or other respiratory and neurological problems. By providing specialized nursing and medical intervention, we are able to assist residents in reaching their highest level of independent function. We strive to wean residents from mechanical ventilators whenever appropriate, thus enabling them to re-establish breathing on their own.
We offer a multidisciplinary approach to the care of the person dependent on mechanical ventilation, whether the resident needs a ventilator temporarily or indefinitely. Our staff is comprised of skilled and experienced professionals who work together to create a personalized and goal oriented interdisciplinary care plan. Individuals on ventilators are closely monitored by both respiratory therapists and nursing 24-hours a day to ensure adequate airway management.
We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and achieving an optimal level of normal functioning for the individual with compromised pulmonary function. Whenever possible, the focus of the ventilator program is to wean the individual from the ventilator and successfully discharge them to home. The interdisciplinary team provides plans to ensure individualized education and restorative therapies that promote medical healing and rehabilitation. A team of dedicated professionals has been assembled to meet each individual’s unique care needs. The individual and his/her family are very important members of the team and we encourage both the resident and family to fully participate, learning to create a new way of life that maximizes each individual’s potential.
Making the decision to place a loved-one in a skilled nursing facility is a difficult one. Our caring staff works with the resident and family to offer support and counseling. With the latest technologies and a staff of skilled, caring professionals and the unique therapeutic community here, we have created a program geared to facilitate success.
