Northwestern Neurological Unit is a unique program designed to meet the need of persons with a neurological injury or illness. Our 50-bed unit offers the specialized care and support that promotes the highest level of independence and dignity. Our nurses and therapists have the knowledge and experience that comes with many years of providing care to this special population. This clinically complex care program focuses on the needs of individuals who have conditions requiring intensive and integrated therapies, along with medical and nursing care. Our program provides a comprehensive range of services to meet the varying needs of these individuals. To ensure the most responsive care delivery, patient needs are routinely assessed, enabling clinically appropriate adjustments to be made when indicated. For those suffering from life-altering illness or injury, or recuperation from an operation, rehabilitation is a dynamic process that can help patients achieve the highest possible degree of independence through a plan of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology.
